November Tipi Checklist
As Autumn deepens and winter edges closer, now’s the perfect time to protect your tipi from the wet and windy months ahead. Whether your tipi stays up year-round or gets packed away until spring, a little care now can make a big difference later.
Here’s your Autumn tipi checklist:
Clean the canvas: Brush off leaves, debris, and dirt. If needed, wipe down with warm water and a soft sponge, never harsh chemicals.
Check the poles & pegs: Tighten, realign, or replace anything loose or weather-worn.
Dry before storing: Never pack away a damp canvas, always allow it to fully dry to prevent mould or mildew.
Store smart: Keep the canvas somewhere dry, off the floor, and out of direct sunlight. If your tipi stays up, check ropes, guy lines, and seams regularly through the colder months.
Top up waterproofing: If your tipi is staying outdoors, now is a good time to reproof the canvas with a suitable treatment.
Looking after your tipi is an investment in many more seasons of gathering, playing, learning, and living outdoors.
